Description
This is Los Angeles River, an urban wildlife habitat.
This is a new addition to my LA River collection, and portrays an early morning view of the Los Angeles River a few years ago. As in many of my LA River photos, the dominant aspect is the habitat with the wildlife occupying a small, off-center part of the composition. Here, a Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) is foraging for early morning breakfast.
The amazing part of the habitat is the abundance and variety of the greenery. What a great view in the midst of a highly populated area! So very lush, green and tranquil.
