Description
Instituto Cultural Mexicano De Los Angeles, black and white rendition
- Los Angeles travel photography by Ram Vasudev
The Mexican Cultural Institute seeks to enhance understanding and communication between Mexican and American peoples through cultural exchange. It is located on Olvera Street in Los Angeles, a city with more people of Mexican heritage than any other in the world except Mexico City. The general location is also known as El Pueblo De Los Angeles, the site of the original settlers in 1781, back when this part of California was part of Mexico.
This photo shows a rather unique view of artist Leo Politi’s beautiful painting “The Blessings of the Animals” at the entrance to the Institute. This is a black and white (monochrome) rendition of the color photo in my Los Angeles gallery.
