Description
Instituto Cultural Mexicano De Los Angeles
- Los Angeles travel photography by Ram Vasudev
The Mexican Cultural Institute seeks to enhance understanding and communication between Mexican and American peoples through cultural exchange. It is located on Olvera Street in Los Angeles, a city with more people of Mexican heritage than any other in the world except Mexico City. The general location is also known as El Pueblo De Los Angeles, the site of the original settlers in 1781, back when this part of California was part of Mexico.
This photo shows a rather unique view of artist Leo Politi’s beautiful, vibrant painting “The Blessings of the Animals” at the entrance to the Institute. You may also be interested in a black and white (monochrome) rendition of this picture in my Los Angeles gallery.
Incidentally, Instituto Cultural Mexicano De Los Angeles wasn't on Google Maps until I told Google about it (July 2, 2017)!!!
UPDATE: November 8, 2022. Just received the following email from Google:
"Hi Ram,
50,000 views on the place you added! Thank you for adding this place to Google Maps! Contributions like this help others make decisions about the things worth doing and places worth seeing—keep it up!"
