Description
Music Under the Stars - A free concert celebrating the life of late Marvin Hamlisch, was held on the steps of the Pasadena City Hall by the Pasadena Symphony and POPS on September 22, 2012.
The concert featured Larry Blank, Jason Alexander (lower right), Valerie Perry, Lisa Vroman, Jason Robert Brown, Donald Brinegar and the JPL Chorus group. I didn't know that Jason Alexander ("George Costanza" in the television sitcom Seinfeld (1989-1998)) could sing quite well!
Pasadena is a city rich in the arts and sciences, and the new JPL Chorus is perhaps the perfect blend of both. Formed recently in partnership between the Pasadena Symphony Association and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the JPL Chorus is comprised of JPL employees who rehearse weekly under the direction of Donald Brinegar, the Pasadena Symphony's Director of Choruses. Their concert program includes a mixture of classical repertoire to popular, with composers ranging from Benjamin Britten and Lennon/McCartney. The Chorus often performs free public concerts in the Pasadena area.
