This is a montage of the eight planets in our solar system, our moon, a comet and an asteroid.
This is a black and white (monochrome) rendition of the color image I posted recently. The original NASA raw image on which this based is in public domain.
The planets are, clockwise starting from the bottom, Mercury (closest to the Sun), Venus, Earth (with the Moon next to it), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Notice the rings around Uranus and Saturn. Also, note that Pluto is no longer considered to be a planet and is not shown here (it has been demoted to the status of a dwarf planet or a planetoid).
