Eaton Canyon is one of my favorite urban wilderness areas in greater Los Angeles. The 190-acre zoological, botanical, and geological nature preserve is located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. On a good day, I could easily spend a few hours here, just wandering around with my camera in bag and photos in mind. This picture was captured in late March a few years ago, when there was plenty of rain and things were green!
I was attracted to this scene by the lush trees leaves, vegetation and wild grasses. I was mesmerized by the different shades of green. These shades are qualitatively described as greens differing in hue, chroma or lightness, and defined more rigorously by their RGB values ("Forest Green" for example has sRGB=39,134,39). I could identify at least the following greens in this picture: forest green, light green, fern green, lime...
Welcome! I hope you find peace, harmony and tranquility here, and feel rejuvenated by my perspective of our world. Just grab a cup of tea, pull a comfy chair and enjoy the photos! My work has been featured in nature books, calendars, wildlife display panels, hospital corridors and people's homes. My interests include wildflowers, garden scenes, landscapes, nature, wildlife, nature habitats, travel/culture, street scenes, spiritual/religious scenes, abstracts, Americana, architecture, science and technology.
