This is a digitally modified version of a dazzling view Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) galaxy, captured by NASA's Great Observatories. I have modified the raw NASA image considerably by reducing noise and enhancing the colors, contrast, beauty, balance and luminosity, in order to provide you a breathtaking, high quality, fine art print through this website. The original NASA raw capture is in public domain.
SMC is a small galaxy about 200,000 light-years way that orbits our own Milky Way spiral galaxy. This is a false-color image, representing a wide range of wavelengths of light. X-rays from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory are shown as purple in the photo; visible-light from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope is colored red, green and blue; and infrared observations from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope are represented in red.
